| "Have A Heart" originated with an 8-year-old girl's desire to help women and children in need. In 2001, Rudy Hazen, a resident of Whitehall and a student at Dance Workshop by Shari, became inspired to collect necessary articles to assist her church's outreach mission. That desire to help others, coincided with Dance Workshop's philosophy of "Dancing for A Difference™, and the "Have A Heart" benefit shows were born. These shows were joyous celebrations of song and dance, featuring the Dance Workshop dancers, but also community youth groups. Over the years, the event has raised money for The Women's Center and Shelter, Make A Wish, Gilda's Club, Juvenile Diabetes, and Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. |
