| National Dance Week is an initiative to heighten the awareness of dance and its contributions to our culture. This organization was formed to encourage the growth and development of Dance in America by raising public awareness to its values and importance in our daily lives and cultures. This week long celebration in April is marked by a variety of activities across the country. These events include performances, dance-a-thons, kick lines, and more. |
| Dance Workshop by Shari has participated in National Dance Week for 15 years. During this week, we invite other children from the community to participate in a dance class during our “Bring A Friend” week. This allows children who might never have experienced a dance class to spend time in a studio and learn some basic dance steps. By opening their eyes to the fun and excitement of Dance, we hope to instill in them the appreciation of this beautiful art form. |
| During this week, we also have Dance-A-Thons where our students raise money in pledges for number of hours danced at the event. Both of these events have raised thousands of dollars which we donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. This wonderful organization provides support and treatment to children dealing with Cancer. |
